in terms of how secure, i just need to transmit it in such a way that if there is any device that would tap in to the transmission line, the information would be useless since it is encrypted prior to transmission.

the problem that i had w/ xoring is that the value to be xored is "constant." if that constant value is known, then it would be possible to decrypt the data.
