Have you never been in that position where, in Engineering, you're just about to sign-off the whole design package - then you get a call from Sales/Marketing saying, "Great! I've just signed up a customre for ten million - we said there'd be no problem to just tweak it a little to add a battery voltage monitor..."
Or is it just me...? Been there, done that. I do, however not consider anything "finished" till it's produced, how often has the first production run not been screwed by a "last minute substitution or some such thing. That, however, does not mean that those wonderful men with their selling machines does not come up with requests for revision after [production has begun. If salespeople sold what the company had, many of us would be unemployed. Erik |
