I plan on using a 6MHz x-tal but what capacitors should I use?? I know for 12 MHz it is 22pf schoul I use these or other values??

Depends on actual quartz and actual micro. Have a look at according datasheets.
By the way, 22pF is not standard value of most derivatives. It's 30pF. With typical 6MHz quartz I would choose 27pF...33pF NP0 type. Be sure that you only use NP0 ceramic type!!

Connect ground leads of both capacitors directly (directly!) to ground pin of micro. It should look like in this example (double sided PCB with solid ground plane on other side):
