#70010 - RE: keyboard controller chip like 8279. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi seema,
If anybody is knowing the keyboard controller chip as 8279? Why you want to use chips like 8279. These 82xx series chips were used for Intel early day 8 bit 808x micros and are almost dead now. Leave the idea of using any keyboard controller such as 8279. I would suggest you to 1. Directly interface your matrix keyboard to your micro port pins If you have say less number of keys on your keyboard say if you have 16 keys. 2. Use a PC style PS/2 Keyboard if you want to have all the PC keyboard keys This approach is cheaper than selfmade matrix keyboard when number of keys are more. Also PS/2 Keyboard needs only 2 micro port pins for interfacing. Regards, Prahlad Purohit |
