#70062 - RE: an embedded systen Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Happened to see a pick-and-place robot as a student project :
The robot can move forward and backward between two tall aisles that have about 50 pigeon holes each. The robot has an arm that can index 180 degrees horizontally and move up / down. One side of the aisle has coded raw material and other has finished goods. Once you order to fetch or load any of the above through a touch screen, the robot moves and locates the relevant pigeon hole and after reaching it, flashes a light on that hole. The color of that hole toggles between red and green to indicate a fetch or store. It was so nicley done and an attractive one for a student project. All movements were very smooth with accelaration and deceleration ramps. And you got a warning when you try to fetch from a empty pigeon hole or store to a full pigeon hole. The best part : A good code document and an as built schematic. Though the above is nothing but a regular warehouse material handling gadget ( it is not even called a robot in industries ) Raghu |
