yup those are the short comings... you have to initialize the seconds and if power goes away then you have to reinitialize the power... i think this solution may be good one of the systme on time is lengthy (1 year or more) as far as the meaning of 0 value.... i assumed 0 as the very first second of this century and the algorithm counts the dates onwards from the first second of 2000 century.
