#71604 - RE: How to set atmel 8051 into idle mode
Responding to: ???'s previous message
from the .pdf in Charles post: only high-end models wake from power-down state by interrupt.

from the LPC932 datasheet: The P89LPC932 exits Power-down mode via any reset, or certain interrupts.

So progress has made a $0.85 chip high-end.

The LPC932 is just one of a plethora of newer derivatives that can exit power down on interrupt.

My point is: why muck around with fancy designs and workarounds when the solution is right there just by selecting a chip with the feature you need.
