#72338 - Troubles with Hypoterminal Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The trouble with Hypoterminal (sic) is that it often causes more problems than it solves! :-(
(just search this forum for "Hyperterminal" and you'll see what I mean!) Ahmed Barakat said:
2-I've configured data bits,Stop bit and Parity. Some versions of Hypoterminal would merrily let you change all the settings to your heart's content, but then just ignore them til you disconnect & reconnect. (I think this stupidity was fixed in Win-2k?) Ahmed Barakat said:
3-Then begin to connect when I write somthing to the Keyboard nothing appear on the sending screen. No terminal (not even Hypoterminal) will display typed characters unless you enable Local Echo. Or do you expect your 8051 to be echoing received characters? Do you have 2 PCs, or a PC with >1 COM port, so that you can just connect them together to verify that data is being sent & received? |
