#72880 - RE: Compiling sdcc on DOS Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello..I`m back.
Why I want to use sdcc on DOS? Because FreeDOS is my main traget OS for developing mcu application, I used also a pic compiler on FreeDOS. I like the OS very much. My 8051 programmer works only on DOS, so I think it`s a good idea to have a compiler on the same platform, I don`t want to emulate or switch the application between Dos and my Desktop OS. It`s only an astetic thing. Of course, I`m using another OS for surfing, gaming, email ... it`s FreeBSD. I know, there is sdcc port in freebsd port collection, but I`m curious if I can compile build the compiler for my favorite OS. By the way, I think that a DOS port of the compiler would be a support to spread the software, cause a lot of mcu developer are using good old DOS as a second platform. Greetings Karim |
