Hallo Arif,
a disadvantage of discrete oscillator chips might be, that they can draw dozens of milliamperes, sometimes. In battery powered applications, where an advanced drive capability is not needed, this additional supply current might become critical. An advantage is, that they are designed to start and run very safely, even under hard conditions, like wide ambient temperature changes, low supply voltage rise times, etc. But at the cost of increased supply current...
