All it knows is that it sends asynchronous serial data, and receives asynchronous serial data - it is totally irrelevant to your 8051 whether there's a PC, or a dumb terminal, or another 8051, or whatever at the other end of the link! So, forget the PC - just think about asynchrous serial comms. |
