#73877 - Dual Power supply |
Dear Friends,
First of all I DID an extensive search on the subject and got an overwelming response. Too much to decide what to do. So I just lay down the question and hope some of you will have an answer. I have a at89S8252 system powered by a low drop 5V regulator. It is connected to either a 9V power suply or six AA Nicads (1700mAh)in series. The current drawn is about 60mA. At the moment I charge the NiCads with a external charger. But I want them permanently inside the computer case and charge them as 6 nicads in series. For loading the Nicads are separated from the system by a switch and connected to an internal charger. My question is what is the best (cheap)charger. I'm thinking of a LM317 as a current source. How do I calculate the charge current and time. Is there a way to know when the Nicads are full. Is it better to use normal Nicads or hi capacity. Have a nice day Robert |
