is a very nice table for baudrate vs xtal frequency (albeit for the XA, but the numbers are the same). http://www.esacademy.com/faq/calc/8951rx2uart.htm is a nifty calculator for error rate and such if using the wrong crystal. Re. allowable error rate, in some cases quite large, in others virtually zero. It seems that what it is depends on the direction of the wind the day the product was made :-) |
