#74414 - Interfacing MCP2150 with 8051 problem
I am working on a project which is based on Smart Home Automation. I am using a Nokia 8210 as a GSM device that would receive SMS and does applications controlled by the 8051 depending on the SMS.

I have decided to use the Infrared port of the phone to send AT commands to control the phone. By this I have decided to build my own IrDA transceiver to serve the purpose of communicating with the Nokia 8210 from the 8051.

I am using the TFDS4500 IrDA transceiver connected to the 8051 with MCP2150 IrDA controller in between. Can anyone please show me how to connect the MCP2150 side to the 8051 side? So far I've only found documentation on MCP2150 to PICs.

Can anyone also tell me how I can programm the 8051 to comply to MCP2150?
Is it possible for me to programm 8051 to send AT commands using only assembly language?
