I've been using this part recently, and Flip works pretty well for programming it. I use the uart interface to program my parts.

Be advised that Atmel sells TWO versions of this part: identical except for the pre-programmed bootloaders. If you buy the part with the uart bootloader, and try to program it via CAN, it won't work. Make sure you get the part you can program.
