The best 8051-compatible controller to start with IMHO is the Dallas Semiconductor DS5000. Go to www.dalsemi.com and look for it. You'll have to read a bit more before playing with the device...
Dalsemi provides a few DOS-based tools to program the micro. Only thing needed is a RS-232 interface level adapter and the cable, you'll have to build these. Best regards, Txip |
