Sometimes leaving interrupts enabled is just as valid because a measurement can then show the effects of what can happen to performance of certain parts of the code when interrupts come and go.
Also keep in mind that the port bit measurment technique is also quite useful for measuring how long an interrupt service routine takes. In this case of course it is necessary to keep interruupts enabled so that the interrupt can happen and thus be measured. Michael Karas |
