Thanks for your care and recommendations. I'll try the methods above.
On the other hand the sound level does not change too much when I drive the speaker with a function generator (up to 9 Volts) But the same speaker produces lots of sound when fed from a 3V Battery radio. This must be related with the resonance induced by parallel inductors Oleg stated I guess.
