#79537 - Audio via UTP???
Hi,

In our new house, I want to foresee audio in different places. To have as much as possible audio "connectors" using as less as possible space for the audio outlets, I was thinking of using (maybe shielded) FTP cable.
Since there are normally 4 twisted pairs of wires in such a cable, that would mean you can connect 4 loudspeakers (or an equivalent of 2 places) to one (U)(F)TP cable.

Question: is this feasible? I'm thinking about the possibility of cross talk, the impedance, the power (current), length, frequency range (although only max. 20 kHz),...
Are such type of cables suited for that purpose?

If so, two "audio" outlets would give me the possibility to connect 8 speakers iso the normal 4 which are foreseen for audio outlets in our region (2 speakers per outlet).

Rgds,
