#8076 - IR please help revisited...
Hi,

The IR discussion posted earlier was a project I had been working on also. I have a Radio Shack IR Detector Module as well. Part number is 276-137 instead. It came with a data sheet thank heavens. The module is very simple to use supposedly. It has a TTL or CMOS compatible output. The data sheet even gives a transmitter circuit and a receive circuit. The module is of course used in the receive circuit. The circuit uses a transistor (MPS2222a or compatible), a few passive components, and a 567 tone decoder. A varibable resistor is used to "tune" in the "frequecy" received. When the tone is received, the 567 will toggle its output pin. It states in the data sheet that you can add additional tone decoders to the single detector module. I am in the works to make this all work. The module is very sensitive and "sees" a tv or vcr remote well. I will let you know how it works out.

TTYL,

Dave Kaleta
