Hi, I am new at programming, and need some help.

I am trying to make a programme to do the following:

When I enter a letter into the programme, it will chnage the letter to another letter or number, and then display the changed letters at the end, or in a box.

I was thinking of using c++, as iv used that a bit in the past and was thinking of the code going along the lines of.

In rough form:

print" Enter the letters to change and then press enter"
If a is pressed display 1, if not check for other key press
If b is pressed display 2, if not check for other key press
If enter pressed print finale message

It is not a code, as im rusty and can not remember all of the parts of code to use.

I can use Lunix, and windows, and would take any help on what would be the best programe and system to use, and if it is a programme I have not used before, I will read up on it.
