Thanks for the reply.
FYI I am using the 668 in 6 clock mode.

S1CON = 0x40;

CR0 ~ CR2 =0 ( 94 KHz @ 11.0592 ) Is it too close to the maximum of 100 MHz ?

However as I mentioned I am getting acks back from the slave.
