#81694 - Better methods Responding to: ???'s previous message |
how many volts are left in the battery How terminal voltage relates to remaining battery capacity is very heavily dependant on the particular battery technology; in may modern battery chemistries, it is not a good indication of the remaining battery capacity. Maxim, Texas Instruments, National Semiconductor, et al all have products for monitoring battery condition - you might like to check them out, and search their websites for application notes on the principles involved (I'm pretty sure Maxim has some useful stuff). Thats right. Look for "Gas gauge" products, that monitor current drain/time and integate it on-chip for your meter reading. Steve |
