These devices sound good, but are they as tough as what they're made out to be? I too have the possibility of 24vdc being connected to the RS485 comms and my workaround is to use a transzorb SA5.0 and a polyswitch to limit the current. Co-incidently Advantech also use this method on their RS485 gear - I dare say they found out their customers kept on smoking the transzorbs. Nothing like having some meaty protection! |
