#82682 - ADC0808 + CT. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Riya,
Your ADC0808 is unipolar ADC where as the CT output is bilpolar thus you will need signal conditioning to make the signal unipolar you can use precision full wave rectifier for this purpose. You can also have a low pass filtering before feeding your CT signal to the precision recitifier. The output of the precision rectifier should have clamp diodes use 1N4148 fast switching diodes. This is done to avoid damaging the ADC input from signal beyond the maximum ratings of ADC input. ADC0808 doesn't have a sample and hold inside it thus you will need to have a sample and hold circuit for holding the input of ADC constant while ADC is doing the conversion.
