#83473 - adc resolution |
hi all
refrence voltage of adc 0804 is adjustable from 0 to 5 volts,if i use 5volts reference resolution is 19.53mv,if i use 1volt reference resolution is 3.90mv,for 10bit adc input voltage range from 0 to 5 volt resolution is 4.88mv,point which i want to make out is that is it possible to get higher resolution by less amplification of inout signal as in my case i have signal from 1 to 100mv,if i use 8bit adc and amplify signal upto 1 volt and in second case i use 10bit adc and amplify signal upto 5 volts, will 8bit adc give better result,if so than why one should use 10bit adc with regards shivani |
