my name is hemant joshi. i am preparing a hobby project.
in that i need to interface a microcontroller to an 640 MB hard disk drive.
on your site, you had published one article on interfacing a microcontroller with an IDE-ATA drive. regarding that i have some queries:-

1) how 16 bit data transfer is achieved from 8 bit microcontroller?

2) is there no need to connect higher address lines?

3) how to operate internal task file registers of HDD?

4) what is complete algorithm to write and fetch a word from HDD?

5) complete algorithm for disk initialization?
