#8417 - HTML Clarification |
Jay has been doing some tests in another thread and I think I should have explained the HTML feature a little more thoroughly.
First, normally it is recommended to use a starting <HTML> and closing </HTML> tag as Jay mentioned. This is not necessary in this message forum since, actually, your message is already embedded within the entire HTML code that makes the entire webpage. If you open a tag, be sure to close it. That is to say, if you open a boldface tag with <B>, be sure to close it with </B>. Otherwise, the rest of the page will look ugly. If you aren't familiar with how to use opening and closing tags, please study this before using them in messages as bad HTML tags can really mess things up. Messages with bad HTML tags will normally be deleted. To include images in your posts, as Jay discovered, it is assumed that the image is already available *somewhere* in Internet. This is not Yahoo were you click on a graphic to "attach" it and then upload it to 8052.com. If you want to include an image, your image must be available on the world-wide web. You may then include that image in your message using the IMG tag. Be sure to include the full http:// address, not just the filename. If you just include a filename, browsers will assume the files are on 8052.com and that's not the case. It is my hope that HTML will be used primarily to include images in your messages. I believe that other HTML tags should be used rarely if ever. Craig Steiner |
