#85152 - Enforcement - Good question Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Thank you craig what will be done to enforce the new rule? That's a very good question which I've been asking myself. And now I'll ask everyone. A few ideas have come to mind. 1. I can add a "-1 Rude/Impolite" score. I'm hesitant to do that because I can see it being used as an unjustified weapon by people with sour grapes. It also isn't very effective when not all people care about their karma score. 2. I could delete messages that are impolite. I'm hesitant to do this because it could have a stifling effect on communication in the forum. 3. I could edit messages that are impolite and remove the parts that are impolite and leave the rest intact. I'm hesitant to do this because I'm not fond of the idea of editing other people's messages. It could open me up to a lot of unnecessary accusations of editing what other people said. I'm open to comments and suggestions about any of the above ideas, or if anyone else has any ideas as to how I could enforce this policy. I know how unfortunate it is to need rules like this but they do keep the decorum up. I agree it's unfortunate and I also agree that it will hopefully keep the environment a little more enjoyable. That's certainly the goal. Regards, Craig Steiner |
