#85723 - Serial comms problem |
Hi there,
I have have two 89S51 uCs set up on a Bread Board. I have tried to make one communicate with the other but nothing seems to happen. The only connections between the uC are the connections between RXD and TXD pins. Is the problem, the fact that the uCs are on a bread board, or that I am using a 12Mhz Osc instead of an 11Mhz? Or is it something else that I have not thought about? Also, Should I configure the RXD and TXD pins? Currently, I have set the RXD pins high to enable them as inputs, and cleared the TXD pins to enable them as outputs. Is this correct? Lastly, does anyone know of a simple Fiber Optic Transmitter and Reciever pair that will be able to transmit over a distance of about 10m between the serial ports of the uCs, through a Fiber optic cable? Thank you for your time! sun |
