I wonder if it is possible to use both external static ram and external Flash memory (µC code memory)on the 80C51 µC from Philips (P87C552).I see the multiplexed address bus and the databus are shared, but what about all the control signals?
Are there any kind of modifications necessary to let the 8051 fetch code from the external flashrom and use the extern ram to store variables into? With "modifications' i mean any address decoders or other programmable logic to suit all control signals...
