Hello Rob and Craig ,
It works now ! Thanks for your suggestions. My port was configured as push pull instead of open drain . That is my punishment for taking a config file from a previous project.I overlooked this .I wish i could spent more time in programming the 8051 and build up more knowledge and experience.But if you have a fulltime job , wife and kids than programming has a lower priority.
