Its good to get people least thinking of the existance of other processors and processor families all too often you get people who just will not even acknowledge them.
Having said that development tools for 32 bit processors are a significant cost,I dont think that you can argue that programmers who know the processor are neccesary and costly as I know of at least one company where the programmers cannot even tell you if they are running the code they write for arm processors in 16 bit or 32 bit mode.
