Some say the first Appliance Computer (ie take it out of the box and plug it in) was the Commodore PET instead of the Apple II. It had an unusually tiny keyboard (I bought a keyboard only) and I think it saved programs on audio tape; something like Kansas City format???

The Commodore VIC series (???) seemed to be more popular and kept them in business for more years than they should have been.

The company stock was hot for about a year and a half (circa 1980), I didn't buy any stock and I didn't buy any of their computers.
