#90403 - Some thoughts ...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I could see supply sinking to bellow 2 volts on oscilloscope

Oh dear. I don't think that qualifies as a regulated power supply!

I think you are using the same source ( 12V ac ) to power both your iductive load and the MCU power supply.

It is not altogther wrong to do so, provided you take adequate precautions to decouple the MCU power supply and follow proper routing of the power supply traces.

Some ideas would be :

> Try to source your inductive load directly across the power supply terminals and not via the track that feeds the MCU.

> Try and use Star grounding for all the DC returns - from MCU, from your inductive source etc.

> Have you got that free wheel diode across the inductive load ?

> If all this sounds tough, then quite simply use a seperate winding for powering the inductive load. Normally no regulator is needed as inductive loads like solenoids work with a voltage tolerance of +/- 10% ( but better check your case to be sure)

And if it is not classified top secret what exactly is your inductive load ?
