Dear Forum Members,

I have used ADC's in some of my designs. When choosing an ADC one of the most important things I consider is that they have separate Analog Ground or not. I always used ones with AGND in order to get better measurement accuracies [ yes even if it is 8bit ].

Recently PHILIPS has introduced LPC938 [ 2 clock core ] 8051 family microcontroller with 10 bit ADC built in. What really surprises me is none of LPC9xx with ADC's have an AGND or AVDD pins in them? For 8 bit ADC's as in LPC935 I can accept without separate AGND but for 10 bit system will it work satisfactorily without a separate Analog Ground?
