Steve,
To communicate two devices on 10 m distance you can add a current loop into your SPI bus with an optotransistors or opto ICs (it depends on desired isolation). To your knowledge, some years ago I designed my own scheme on an opto ICs for the half duplex communication. In your case it takes only 4 wires for 3 half duplex (or simplex) lines. George |
