In my mind it is very very useful for somebody who don't read many previous posts.
Not necessarialy, many "good" posts are only vaid in context and applying them across the board may be dangerous. An example: "a switching power supply is the best" could be rated "good" and be correct in the context of the thread, but if you modulate with a frequency in the same range (as seen in another thread) using a switching power supply is murder.
