For doing this project you must consider 2 basic requirements
1). Round Sensing to detect number of rounds per sec,min,... 2). Relation between a perfect round and the distance, A choice for sensing is IR(Infra Red). and you can easily find the relation between wheel's perfect round and distance Now,the problem is solved! Only mathematic operation is needed for changing number of pulse(sensor output),and distance so you can easily obtain Mile/Hour,Km/Hour,RPM,meter/s and others. I did this for a bicycle,and i think your important task is deciding where do you locate the sensor? Mehdi |
