Why not just use the serial port - then you don't need any special drivers at all! With the serial port, you need nothing more than a standard windoze installation and the standard windoze API. You can use things like AsyncPro (search here) if you want to get flashy, but there is no need. And, of course, if you program for the standard COM: port interface, it will work with any standard USB-to-RS232 adaptor thingy (just remember not to put an artificial limit on the COM: port number...!). |
