#93151 - two capacitors or one?? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
It sounds like that your 24mHz crystal is a 3rd overtone crystal that ends up wanting to run in its fundamental mode at 8mHz. Did you put two capacitors in the crystal oscillator circuit?
You may also find that in some circuits it is difficult to get a 3rd overtone crystal to operate at its label frequency unless the stray capacitance and extra wiring lengths are kept to absolute minimum. Michael Karas |
