That's not saying it isn't possible to write code that can be used on both, but attention to detail and testing would be required at a minimum. As long as you use the Win32 API (CreateFile, ReadFile, WriteFile, SetCommTimeouts, etc.) then in my experience it the same on all versions of Windows, from 95 to XP. Andy |
