#93547 - the crux Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I am sure its very nice but ....,see that its limited to 2 K in the demo .... crippled to such an extent that they are unuasble
You are absolutely rignt, I have never been able to evaluate anything using an eval. I think that real story is reflected by a response to "are you using the eval?" which was "of course, I use the eval". The crux, thus, is that if the toolmakers made useable evals, they would sell no product. So what do they do. I think the eval is not really an eval, but a means of making amateurs, hobbyists and others that may, some day, become professionals have "something" that makes them choose barnd x should they ever purchase anything. I have never had any trouble getting a full version for evaluation by asking. When I was at a place where we were to buy 8 sets (compiler - assembler - ICE etc) every manufacturer contacted, save one * sent me a full version after I signed a "will not use it for real work" document. Erik * Tasking, Instead of a package I got the statement "You do not need to evaluate, just buy ours, it is the best". Tasking did not get evaluated and did not get purchased. |
