and neglect the overflow
NOT the overflow of the addition. I ment neglecting the overflow of the ring buffer. If you use a ring buffer for e.g. serial data, you declare an overflow error if you store in an occupied slot. When using a ring buffer for "average of last n readings" the "overflow" from storing in an occupied slot is OK and should be ignored. Erik |
