Yes,
There are limitations by circuit fanout which drivers could be used to extend. Common sense is the criteria that eventually limits the number in that usual configurations when you have more and more I2C chips, usually cross a threshold where an alternate solution becomes more feasible. A good design test is to consider, when your solutions appears to go far off the normal track, whether its done so because others have found a better alternative. Its either that your application is so unique that it requires a solution beyond the normal, or that a better solution is just within reach if you pause to consider it. aka j |
