#93924 - SILabs only
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi, I been using the Raisonance ride 51 demo version for some time. I just recently downloaded there latest version which supports direct debugging of a silicon labs device.
The application closes, read below for details !!!

So why do you not drop the stupid attempts of using an IDE across manufacturer boundaries and just use the SILabs debugger as a freestanding SILabs program.

However, as to the SILabs debugger (which, unfortunately, has to be downloaded as "the IDE") versions 2.2 and 2.3 blow up when you try to watch a bit plus the plethora of other annoying fleas.

I am, right now, running 3 instances of the SILabs debugger and I wish SILabs would concentrate on making the debugger less buggy instead monkeying with the stupid, silly, ridiculous IDE interfacing to other manufacturers. Once the debugger is (reasonably) bug free they can, if they feel the need, make it part of an Idiotic Design Enema.

The day the '51 toolmakers ALL and EVERYONE (editors, compilers, assemblers, linkers, ICEs, JTAG debuggers and the rest of the stuff) agree on an "interface standard" the efforts spent on IDEing stuff may have a reasonable return on investment but today they create more problems than they solve.

Ok, now I have vented, I am very unhappy that SILabs do not concentrate on fixing the critical bugs in the debugger, but, instead, keep making the Idiotic Design Enema "capable of interfacing" to all kinds of other tools.

Erik
