#94029 - Getting this Atmel 89C51RD2 to work
Hi,

For a small project I have set up a 89C61RD2 on veroboard and point-to-point board with a Max232. First off, I'm trying to get it into ISP. It's in a 64 pin PLCC socket.

I have the following connections to the IC:
Vcc -0v
Vss -5v
RST -10uF cap to Vcc
RxD, TxD -Max232
XTAL1,XTAL2 -11.0592mhz osc.
PSEN -0v
!EA -5v

I have 0.1uF greencap capacitors on the max232. Is this okay?
It's not doing anything over serial. I'm using Atmels Flip software.

I don't have immediate access to a scope but is there any way to find out if the chip is initializing? Are there any connections that I'm missing?

Thanks
Arron
