Definitely External supervisors are better as far as voltage detection (reset/brownout detect), but as far as watchdog it is far more likely that a runaway program will toggle a port bit than it will make two exact consequtive writes.
Erik NOTE the above does not apply to the Intel PCA4 kluged watchdog. Any watchdog that can be disabled when once enabled is a dud. |
