#95258 - Defeating the object?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Basically I am using 7 slave for expansion of IO pins.

you can do one thing you can convert the received serial data into a 8 bit or 16 bit parallel data , which is taken out through ports and send to the other controllers in parallel.

Hmmm... I think this defeats the object of the exercise:

He's adding these 7 slaves for "IO expansion" - if he now uses up 8 or even 16 pins (plus control signals!) on each processor for a parallel bus, he'll need to add even more slaves to achieve his required number of available IO pins!!

But maybe he just has a bucketful of old 89C51s that he wants to use up...! ;-)
