Well, without any extra tricks, without synchronizing the MPUs, without any extra gates etc, you can safely connect 2 separate MPUs to 2 the two separate RS232C ports in the PC using just one MAX232, with its two pairs of transceivers.
There are other derivatives of MAX232 with more transceivers than MAX's 4, but few PCs provide more than 2 serial ports anyway. Of course attaching more MPUs to ONE serial port in a PC is a completely different matter. |
